Topman Design AW12 catwalk collection at London Fashion Week

This season Topman Design concentrates on texture and keeps its colour palette black creating a dark sensual and cultural look of the young Robert Mapplethorpe and in keeping with his black and white Polaroid images.

Coats are belted and in rich textured fabrics such as, soft boucle, hi shine PVC, lurex and thick wool pile.

The style of the jackets have a relaxed tailored look with the asymmetric zip design and rich fabrics used, making them ideal to wear over suits as well as the casual jeans.

Leather pants taper at the bottom and are rolled up slightly to reveal the moulded leather ankle boots.

Layering is always key for an autumn/winter collection. This time the layering provides a slim silhouette with fine gauge knits and lurex tops.

Mapplethorpe’s black and white photo of the Lily is used as a repeated and distorted print on silk shirts. Knotted leather pendants and rosaries by Husam El Odeh adorn wrists and necks and complete the look and mood of the collection.
