The Football Association Launches Drive for Entire Nation to Play Football

Players of all ages and abilities encouraged to play football on 7 June as England prepare for 2014 FIFA World Cup
The Football Association has announced plans for a weekend of football celebrations starting Friday 6 June, with the nation being encouraged to get out and play football as excitement builds ahead of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.


The weekend, which will be called Reds v Blues – marking the classic team colours used most often in the nation’s favourite game – aims to inspire people of all ages and abilities to sign up and represent a Red or Blue team before playing football in whatever form they wish.

This could range from kickabouts in gardens to organised 5-a-side and 11-a-side matches. Scores from all the games that take place will be combined to create an overall final score at the end of the day.

Former Arsenal, Birmingham City, Bolton Wanderers and England Under-21 footballer, Fabrice Muamba will be joined by former semi-professional player, TV presenter and Heart FM radio host, Mark Wright, as team captains for the Reds and Blues – leading the drive for others to get involved.

On Friday 6 June, The FA has teamed up with 5-a-side providers Power League, Play Football and Goals to set up Reds v Blues tournaments, with fantastic prizes at stake in each centre.

On Saturday 7 June, The FA is urging everyone who loves the game to hold their own Reds v Blues matches. It will be easy to pick a colour, pick up a ball and start to play.

The FA is also working with 50 County FAs to run activities on Saturday 7 June.

VERSACE AUTUMN/WINTER 2014 CAMPAIGN: POWER AND FREEDOM


Versace’s autumn/winter 2014 campaigns represent the power, seduction, freedom and glamour at the heart of the brand. The campaign was shot by Mert & Marcus, under the creative direction of Donatella Versace.
The men’s campaign is about the individuality and self-expression of the Versace man. The images are shot on an entirely plain set, as the Versace man needs nowhere to hide.

Models Filip Hrivnak and Daniel van der Deen wear pieces from the autumn/winter 2014 collection inspired by the biker and the Wild West. The result is a man who is defiant and proud to reveal his true character.

CONVERSE ANNOUNCES THE LAUNCH OF CONS PROJECT LONDON‏

Converse announces the launch of CONS Project London, the latest installment in a series of global community projects designed to inspire the next generation of creative spirits through music, art, style and skate.
 Following on from the success of similar initiatives in New York, Los Angeles and more recently Warsaw and Belgrade, CONS Project London will open in Peckham – one of the city’s most up-and-coming creative hubs – from Thursday 22nd May.

The ambitious 10-week project will help to unleash urban creativity within the community using the space as a hub for a series of talks, workshops and exhibitions; all aimed at inspiring young people, giving them opportunities to learn whilst fueling their creative passions.   

Five local CONS Ambassadors have curated the project: James Benenson (Urban Nerds), Alex Synamatix (The Daily Street), Scratcha DVA (Rinse/Hyperdub), Jerome Campbell (Converse Cons Skate Ambassador) and Sam Taylor (Vice/Little White Lies).

The CONS Project London workshops will offer tangible, hands-on lessons for local youth ranging from age 16 and above, at no cost.

To kick things off, US hip-hop legend PUSHA T will be launching CONS Project London when he takes to the stage at the official opening party on Thursday 29th May. Pusha T, one half of iconic hip-hop duo Clipse, is now signed to G.O.O.D. label and is sure to get the party started in style. Support will come from rising London rap duo KREPT & KONAN, talented Glaswegian producer RUSTIE and Rinse FM regular SCRATCHA DVA.

David Beckham hosted an exclusive rooftop pool party to mark the launch of his debut swimwear collection for H&M. The David Beckham For H&M Swimwear private launch took place at Shoreditch House on May 14, 2014 in London.

Guests including Ellie Goulding, One Direction’s Liam Payne and Niall Horan and Aaron Paul soaked up the luxe party atmosphere in East London.

Since the launch of the first David Beckham Bodywear for H&M collection in 2012, the range has been designed each season with new styles, fabrics and patterns, so the addition of both stylish and functional swimwear is a natural progression.

Laserblast LIFE (Laserblast Innovation For Earth )  - in store  from mid May -uses natural mineral pigments in the dyeing technique which imbeds the fabric with a distinctive faux vintage appeal thanks to a fine variegation of hues. Using laser technology to create whiskering effect plus an intense stone wash for more of a lived-in look. 
From there every item is put through a low temperature water wash with mineral pigments in gray and brown/ochre tones, then set to dry to attain a chunky texture.
